Basketry
Mango, who has been with us since the beginning of the project, makes baskets and lamps from bejuco, an endemic liana that grows in the jungle.
Ceramic
Emilio Espadas is a potter in Uayma. He designs plates, pots and vases with natural materials and then fires them in an antique kiln in his garden.
Embroidery
Many women in Espita are masters of the Yucatecan cross-stitch which decorates traditional outfits, the Xipil.
