Boutique hotel in Espita, Yucatán
Casona Los Cedros is an eight-room boutique hotel set within a restored historic house in the centre of Espita, in eastern Yucatán. Bringing together contemporary architecture, natural materials, a tropical garden and local cuisine, the house was conceived as an intimate place from which to experience Yucatán at a different pace. Located close to Valladolid, Chichén Itzá and the landscapes of eastern Yucatán, Casona Los Cedros offers a small-scale address for travellers who want to take their time discovering the region.
A contemporary house in a Yucatecan village
Casona Los Cedros was created through the restoration and transformation of an old house in Espita. The project preserves the spirit of the existing building while giving it a contemporary expression. Natural light, courtyards, gardens and local materials are central to the architecture. Stone, chukum, lime, wood and natural fibres meet simple lines and open spaces overlooking the vegetation. Our intention was to create a place that belongs to its surroundings, without trying to reproduce a fixed or folkloric image of Yucatán. Objects, selected pieces of furniture and decorative details also incorporate the work of local artisans and regional craftsmanship.
An intimate hotel shaped around the garden
With just eight rooms and suites, Casona Los Cedros retains the scale and feeling of a private home. The rooms are arranged around the garden, with terraces opening onto the surrounding vegetation. The suite also has its own private pool. At the heart of the house, the garden, pool, terrace and shared spaces create a natural setting for slowing down. Breakfast is enjoyed at an unhurried pace; afternoons are spent in the garden or by the pool; evenings lead naturally to the restaurant and bar. Rather than offering an extensive collection of services, Casona Los Cedros focuses on a simple, comfortable experience with careful attention to detail.

Casona Los Cedros is, above all, an independent house built around a particular idea of hospitality. We are drawn to natural materials, objects with a story, flowers from the garden, encounters with local artisans, seasonal produce and the small details that make a stay feel personal. Our aim is not to create a hotel that could be anywhere. We want Casona Los Cedros to be deeply connected to Espita and Yucatán, while offering a contemporary and personal interpretation of the region.
